It’s strictly by invitation only, and the exclusive nature of the three-day Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous underlines the status of an event fast becoming a fixture in well-heeled international calendars, in just its second year.
The curated guest list of like-minded people gathering at Kata Rocks during 8-10 December encompasses superyacht owners, Kata Rocks villa owners, discerning individuals interested in yachting and luxury lifestyle, industry professionals, and an influential mix of international and regional lifestyle, luxury travel and yachting media.
Exotiq Thailand is proud to be a part of this prestigious gathering, as a media partner of the Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous.
Against a backdrop of majestic vessels of all shapes and sizes anchored offshore, this eclectic mix of luxury sailing aficionados will mingle in a glittering whirl of bespoke events and glamorous parties - amid the luxurious ambience of Kata Rocks, and also aboard the superyachts.
The event is open to both sailing and motor yachts measuring more than 24 metres in length, visiting or based in Phuket – Southeast Asia’s leading superyacht hot spot.
As an exciting portal to Asia for the global superyacht community – of which less than 10 percent have so far sailed the region’s waters - it will also further position Phuket worldwide as an elite yachting and luxury destination in Southeast Asia.
And with this blue-ribbon occasion signalling the opening of Asia’s luxury charter season, superyacht owners have a prime-time opportunity to showcase their flagship vessels to prospective customers seeking to explore what the region has to offer.
Last year, the inaugural Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous welcomed 17 superyachts, including iconic vessels such as the 93 metre Lauren L and 51 metre Northern Sun. An even more impressive turnout is expected this year as this prestige get-together becomes established as an ultimate luxury event in Thailand and the leading superyacht event in Asia.
The roll-call of attendees once again contains legendary names of luxury yachting: famed Dutch superyacht builder Feadship, with roots dating as far back as 1849, has boosted its involvement this year as a co-sponsor.
And signalling the growing prestige of the Kata Rocks Superyacht Rendezvous and itsdynamic synergy between superyachts, luxury villas and private jets, a new participant this year is Vista Jet, one of the world’s most innovative private jet companies.
Benetti, Italy's prestigious motor yacht brand with more than 144 years of history, returns as a participating partner and host of the Benetti and Vista Jet Owners’ Dinner.
Other partners returning this year include Lee Marine, who will host a private cocktail party, and The Surin Phuket which will again host a private beach barbeque. Also back are Burgess, Hemisphere Monaco, Northrop and Johnson, Bristol Charter, Princess, Boat in The Bay, Sea-Doo, and Seal Superyachts.
Highlights from the action-packed programme include a welcome reception aboard a superyacht, plus a cruise of the whole fleet north to a secluded beach for the gourmet barbeque at The Surin Phuket.
There’s also a bevy of sunset cocktails, a Yacht Hop and Big Boys’ Toys on the water showcase, the exclusive Feadship Owners' Dinner and the Benetti and Vista Jet Owners’ Dinner in Kata Rocks' iconic Sky Pool Villa Penthouse, and a Grand Finale Party.
