Dark Sensations

The saying that we eat as much with our eyes as we do with taste is tested at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, where Thailand’s first five-star Dining in the Dark (DID) concept is staged at chic gastro-lounge BarSu. Diners eat a four-course menu in pitch darkness, creating sharpened experiences through sensations being stimulated, sounds amplified and imaginations increased. Guests are led to their tables in the dark by visually impaired guides, to gain an understanding of their hosts’ lives. And for each diner, the hotel makes a donation to The Foundation for the Blind in Thailand.
