Special occasions for special girls call for special dresses. Maison TuTTi – the exclusive bespoke wedding line of Thai designer Tutti Wongpuapan – makes weddings memorable with these beguiling dresses, as personal and individual as the big day itself.
Her bridal collection A Romance for All Seasons highlights the TuTTI brand signature with crafted pieces of lace specially selected to provide a sense of vintage romance, combining unique details of tailoring that fill this collection with fun, positivity, and contemporary style.
Brides-to-be can create their own personally-inspired bridal dresses from these materials with Maison TuTTi’s special cutting techniques, or adapt them to match with other favourite pieces from their wardrobes to create a new look.
Romance for All Seasons is inspired by Tutti’s fondness for the classic romances of lovers from different eras, that entranced the world - Britain’s 19th century Queen Victoria and Prince Albert; the love story of two American artistic figures during the turbulent 1920s; and the romance between a Beatle and his gorgeous muse in the 1960s.
In this collection, Tutti paints Queen Victoria and Prince Albert’s love story into her design of a long sleeveless dress decorated with a big bow, and draping techniques giving the sense of a precious gift.
The inner layer is an elegant lace bodysuit tied at the waist with a ribbon decorated with English roses, a symbol of love from Victoria to her Albert.
More romantic highlights are inspired by the powerful romance between American novelist F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda, a young artist, during the 1920s. Although this wasn’t exactly a Happy Ever After affair, the love letters they left behind depict a potent and deep relationship.
To celebrate this, Tutti has created a long gown stitched with handmade white roses at the top, portraying their endless romance. The bottom, however, is decorated with layers of lace making it look livelier on the bride whenever she moves – just like a Flapper dancer from the Roaring 20s .
The collection also includes a homage to Beatle George Harrison and Patti Boyd, his wife during the 1960s and the muse behind many of his popular songs.
Their love story inspires the look featuring a touch of 60s style with big collars and a tie, way beyond the concept of a traditional bridal dress. Despite this, the long gown provides a feminine touch with lace as its main material, combined withmasculine character from the long jacket-like sleeves that allow a bride to be different.
To complete wedding celebrations, Maison Tutti provides customised designs for after party dresses to make the night unforgettable, such as a classy sleeveless draped top with Tutti’s signature lace paired with see-through lace pants that brides can mix and match into their own styles.
Tutti, a Central Saint Martin graduate with a degree in fashion design, launched TuTTi in Bangkok in 2007 with a showroom at Market Place Thonglor Soi 4, followed with stores at Thai Thai, Central Chidlom, and Qurator, EmQuartier department stores in the heart of the city.
Her brand is a spin of childhood nostalgia and classic femininity, expressed through intimate and personable designs in signature lace textiles. She constantly experiments with lace, delving into dip-dyed lace, lasercut lace and various textured lace. Other fabrics repeatedly used in her finely detailed, hand-crafted collections are silk organza, chiffon, natural cotton, hand-crafted crochet and denim.
