The Kingdom of Thailand looks forward to the coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun on Saturday, 4 May. The official ceremony takes place at the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha in Bangkok but celebrations will be held across the country and a public holiday will be observed through 6 May. While most ceremonies will be held in private, a parade is expected to make its way across Rattanakosin Island on 5 May and His Majesty will make an appearance before the public on 6 May at the balcony of Sutthaisawan Prasat Hall on the eastern side of the Grand Palace.
