The Samui Regatta will set sail once again in the waters offshore the island during 26 May – 2 June with a week-long extravaganza of great sailing races complemented by beach-based celebrations. The regatta, originally launched in 2002 with a small fleet of 11 mainly beach catamarans, has grown into a premier event that puts Koh Samui and Thailand at the forefront of top-class competitive sailing, with some 500 competitors from more than 20 countries. Hosted by Centara Grand Beach Resort Samui, with partners including the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Sports Authority of Thailand, this year’s event is set to be better than ever, with a new dinghy regatta for youth sailors in four classes on the opening weekend of 26-27 May.
