Isaan food is renowned for its pungent sauces, spicy chilies, and unusual proteins. It isn’t often in the spotlight but it certainly has its own die-hard fans who will travel far for Isaan food made right.
If you are one of them, and you happen to be in town this July or August, you don't need to travel far because the Bangkok Marriot Hotel The Surawongse has a two month season of Issan plates at its Praya Kitchen restaurant.
Located on 3rd floor of the hotel, you can indulge in the diverse flavours of northeastern cuisine every Thursday. The dinner buffet is offered at THB 1,388++ from 1 July – 31 August 2019. A 50% discount is applied for children 6-12 years old while children below 6 years old eat free.
Moreover, guests are invited to experience an array of fresh seafood at the Seafood Wall, featuring locally sourced fish and crustaceans such as sea bass, river prawns, mud crabs, rock lobsters, blue crabs, mussels and squids. Once chosen take your fresh seafood to Chef Somkid, or one of his team, and they will prepare and cook your plate in a variety of ways: stir-fried with yellow curry powder, stir-fried with garlic, stir-fried with chili and salt or simply grilled.
